ChathuraGiri Hill
ChathuraGiri is a sivan malai located in Tamil nadu, India. It is very mysterious place where the siddhars are believed to do poojas to the lord sundara mahalingam and santhana mahalingam in the hill.
Chathuragiri otherwise known as Sivanmalai is situated 5 kms from Watrap (Vathirairuppu) near Srivilliputhur. The name Chathuragiri came from Chathur (4) Veda (Vedas) Giri (Hill), where all the four Vedas met and formed the hill. Another meaning is that the whole mountain is in square (Chathuram) in shape so the name Chathuragiri.
Devotees coming from Chennai has to reach Madurai and get down at Krishnan Koil Bus Stop on the way to Srivilliputhur, Rajapalayam, Shencottah route then go to Watrap (Vatthirairuppu). From Watrap have to go to Thaniparai, the base of the hill. Buses are available even from Srivilliputhur itself to Watrap and Taniparai.
